Shale are a band made up of four teenage mates from Cardiff and Newport in South Wales.
Their music is characterised by guitar led catchy pop tunes and a an exciting and entertaining live set. Also with dancing!
Shales self tilted debut EP was released in April 2025 and includes their first single Green light Red Light. This was a bit of a surprise for the young songwriter Samuel Hale who created the record as a six form school project but it ended up getting played on the BBC Introducing and thousands of downloads on Spotify.
Following this, they released the incredibly catchy Fuzzy Identities. This secured them their first spins on 6 Music, and got lots of solid day time play on Radio Wales, when the station put it on their A-list for two weeks.
With the success of Fuzzy Logic the band played Cardiffs legendary Swn Festival and their first sold out gig at Cardiffs Clwb Ifor Bach.
Next came their ballad It’s Not right. This kept the bands momentum growing on Radio 6 Music, Radio Wales and many other indie radio stations throughout the UK (and some further afield).
The track also got them a session on BBC Introducing along with heavy praise of the band in the iconic DIY Magazine.
Shales latest track from their debut EP is the already live favourite ‘Work Dog’ and released in April 2025.
When it comes to line gigs this band are definitely Work Dogs!!
With a full UK tour booked for April and more to come, check them out near you!
